Basma's Classic Hummus

I was excited to attend an appetizer girl's night at my good friend Basma's apartment last week. She has always impressed me with her food, and the effort she puts into being a great hostess. She spoiled us ladies with delicious small bites like chicken spinach and feta cups, a spicy soba noodle salad, and endless hummus. Many of you that know Basma know that her hummus is by far the best. She has been kind enough to share the recipe with me which I am now sharing with all of you. Enjoy!

      Basma's array of small bites/appetizers

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans of Chickpeas/garbanzo Beans
  • 1/4 cup of Tahini (eyeball more or less to your liking)
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tsp. Cumin
  • 1-2 Cloves of Garlic (optional)
  • Olive Oil (to drizzle over the finished hummus)

Preparation
:

Put all ingredients except for the olive oil in a blender or food processor and blend/pulse until smooth and creamy. Top with a drizzle of olive oil and enjoy with pita bread/chips. Save in a tupperware in the fridge until you're ready for snacking.
